I Know the Man
The world trying to own my soul
Deceiver been working overtime on me
Take this, do that, like I need it
Your Word keeps me
where I need to be
You in me and I in you Lord
Filled with the Holy Spirit
Listening only for your voice
Humble, content so I can hear it
Some say I need to study well
Try my best, do all I can
But ask me how I know I’m saved
I’ll tell you I just know the Man
That man is Jesus
He made the Way
His home in me
Grace says I’m OK
Just as I am
My will surrendered
My life given up
My heart fully tethered
If I had one song to sing
Heaven would hear me clear
I’d thank Him for just being there
Whenever I need Him near
It’s a simple trust
That place in my heart
Reserved just for Him
As each day starts
